Braaictionary (noun) [ brye’iksh’nəri ] – a reference book or list, compiled by the public for the public, that contains alphabetically ordered words most often used at a typical South African braai, with explanations of their meanings and appropriate uses.

This one of the most useful South African words. Pronounced like the "ach" in the German "achtung", it can be used to start a reply when you are asked a tricky question, as in: "Ag, I don't know." Or a sense of resignation: "Ag OK, I'll have some more mieliepap then." It can stand alone too as a signal of irritation.

Bak
It is a dish, made from Aluminium or Stainless Steel, used for putting the meat in when it is ready. Some braaiers use glass "bakke", but this there is a safety concern in this method. When you "eat off of the braai", then a "bak" is unnecessary.
